The 245 MPH Koenigsegg Agera

Scandinavia is not typically known for producing exotic supercars, but Swede Christian von Koenigsegg has been hard at work producing some of the fastest, most expensive, and most desirable automobiles on the planet.

For 2011, his eponymous company is offering the Koenigsegg Agera. "Agera" means "to act" in Swedish - a SUPREME understatement for a car that offers 910 hp @ 6,850 RPM from a 4.7-liter twin-turbo V8, as well as 811 lb-feet of torque. To put all that power to the ground, the Agera offers the quickest-reacting traction-control system in the automotive world, which includes settings for everything variable road conditions to driving style. Transmission is a 7-speed SMG, and all that speed is brought to a halt by 15.4-inch ceramic brakes.

Of course, with a $1,000,000 supercar like this, we're all salivating to hear the performance numbers. The Agera does not disappoint.

Top speed is claimed to be greater than 245 mph (wow!), and 0-60 performance should be just a tick over 3.0 seconds = BRUTALLY FAST, and one of the only true rivals to the mighty Bugatti Veyron.

As far as styling goes, many would hand victory to the Agera over the Veyron. The lines are decidedly less futuristic than the Veyron, recalling pure-bred Le Mans racers more than than something from a sci-fi movie.

The only downside? Availability in the United States (or lack thereof). Of course, for 99.9% of us, the Koenigsegg is a dream car anyway - not anything for which we'll be whipping out our checkbooks.
